I am a North Carolina Licensed Addictions Counselor (LCAS) who, over the years, has developed a style that incorporates Motivational Interviewing techniques with my understanding of the need to develop and utilize relaxation and mindfulness techniques. I have experience working with individuals in all phases of recovery from a new desire to stop a problematic behavior to those in recovery for many years.
First and foremost, I want to understand where you are in terms of substance abuse and recovery. By meeting each person on their own level, I can work with them to tailor a plan that draws on inherent strengths and motivations. My focus is on helping you learn to cope with the many stressors and difficulties that arise in daily life while uncovering and reaching a better understanding of the pain that often leads to behavioral problems.
I work to integrate all aspects of a person’s life – emotional, spiritual, relational, and financial into therapy. My training as a financial planner has been a great asset in addressing recovery issues. I strive to offer the most integrated, holistic approach possible.
